    • Chapters receive a page on our website for families to find the grief experts and leaders in their community. Managed by the RBM Team.

    • Chapters also have a group inside our app to stay connected to the ministry. Managed by the RBM Team.

    • Chapters can promote their events on our website and inside our app, a place where they can stay connected to families of loss.

    • Chapters within a diocese provide the perfect way to serve families of loss with flocks within their chapter.

    • Representation on the diocesan level allows parishes to have direct access to the communications office at the diocese, bishop support, family and respect life support, clergy access, etc., to reach the families of child loss in the diocese.

    • Most volunteers have full-time jobs and need support from the diocese to raise awareness to reach families of loss in the diocese.

    • Having a chapter advocate (diocesan support) to support and assist the flocks as a team increases the potential for sustainability of individual flocks to support more families.

    • We cannot stress enough the need for diocesan support for each flock in their diocese as this helps each flock to flourish in assisting each family toward healing and restoration.

  • Aside from the chapter advocate (diocesan) support received by each flock, each chapter will have its own chapter page on our website and a chapter small group on our online community.

    • Having a chapter within a diocese will provide a partnership between the diocese and the community to serve families of child loss. Which is very important when families are reaching for the Church for support.

    • Each flock and their leader will be recognized on the chapter webpage to increase the ease of families of loss to find support near them and to locate the right person for help.

    • Each chapter will also have a small group to reach their families in the RBM Branded App.

    • The diocese could pay for its chapter advocate certification and assist each parish with funding for flock leaders and/or companion couple certifications.

    • A parish can purchase certification for their flock leaders and/or companion couples certification.

    • Each person/couple could fund their certifications if funding from the diocese or parish is unavailable.

    • There are also grant opportunities that diocese chapters could apply for that could allow you to assist with funding. (Catholic Marriage Fund)

    • You could also reach out to the community for support. Donors are always willing to support helping families of child loss.

    • We understand the importance of properly allocating funds throughout a diocese, deanery, and their parishes and can assist you in the discernment process and ideas to support this ministry. RBM operations have been funded by generous donors since inception.

    • Red Bird Ministries is not in the financial position at the time to offer our certifications, trainings, and/or materials FREE to any parish or diocese.

  • Unfortunately, we are unable to keep chapters and/or flocks in active status if the certification fee is not renewed each year.  For a chapter to be active, a diocese must have 1 chapter advocate in active status, and for a flock to be active, there needs to be 1 flock leader in active status.

  • The yearly fees allow access to all needed materials produced by RBM indicated in the Leader Training and Onboarding Guide and allows the ministry to offset costs of sustaining the ministry,  production of new materials, advertising to families of loss, and other fees incurred with the maintenance of the chapter advocate/flock web pages, RBM Branded App, online community, virtual support opportunities for families of loss, materials, training, etc.

  • Ideally, each diocese and/or deanery that becomes a chapter typically has 1 advocate per diocese or deanery, depending on how your diocese is structured. The diocese/deanery will then have individual flocks at various parishes throughout the diocese.

    • Each flock will, in turn, have companion couples/mentors to assist the flock in ministering to families and partaking in events.

    • Most diocese will start with one chapter advocate, one flock leader, and one companion couple/mentor, but we work with the diocese from thought to implementation and assist you in rallying your team.

  • RBM has developed the methodology to properly assist families of loss and implement a chapter into a diocese that provides the support that families of loss need. We also know that the ministry’s support is directly impacted by the support of the leaders in their community.

    • RBM has carefully designed a system that anticipates the stages of grief and the challenges encountered with a unique focus on keeping marriages intact and preserving healthy family relationships after a loss.

    • RBM provides leaders with the tools and resources needed to help families learn how to thrive after loss.

    • We also help leaders build community while mentoring families of loss the support needed from the Church. Our leaders become a bridge from the family back to the Church parish.
