Westin Joseph Morgan

Hello everyone. My name is Keri Morgan. I am from Egan, Louisiana. My greatest joy in life is being a mom to my sweet little girl, Audrey, and my precious little saint Westin Joseph Morgan.

My husband and I got married on November 12th, 2021. What was supposed to be the best day of our life turned out to be the start of a nightmare. I remember bits and pieces of our wedding and nothing more. At our reception, I had this aching pain in my stomach. What I thought was appendicitis was an ovarian pregnancy that ruptured. I was rushed into immediate surgery. My brand-new husband and I were shocked, confused, and hurt. We didn’t know what to think. The first time I would ever circle “spouse” on any paper was in the middle of a miscarriage.

Weeks later, we had a post-surgery checkup. The doctor put the ultrasound probe on my stomach, and a tiny heartbeat appeared. Everyone’s mouth dropped in shock. The doctor said, “This is a miracle; there is no way possible.” She told us this child was 1 in 30,000%. I can’t put into words the excitement and joy that overcame us. We found out it was a little boy at our 4D ultrasound. We named him Westin Joseph Morgan. He was our miracle. At 18 weeks old, we had a checkup. There was no movement, growth, or heartbeat, and it left us speechless. I thought to myself, “God, why did you give us a miracle and then take it? Why us? What did we do to deserve this?”

A few months later, I had a dream that I was at the crucifixion, but it wasn't from Jesus's point of view. It was from Mary's. Ever since that night, I have held on to Mary, and she has helped me so much. She has guided my husband and me back to our faith and back to God. I know that Wes wasn’t given to me for no reason, and maybe that reason was to use my cross to help other families.

I am not the type of person to talk openly about my feelings, but I also knew I couldn’t keep them balled up inside. I began writing and reading other families' stories. I was introduced to Red Bird Ministries by my grandma. Immediately, I was moved by the website and blogs. I knew I wanted to become a part of something so beautiful. I am delighted and blessed to have found a ministry that allows me to turn my son's life into something that helps other families mentally and spiritually.

As ordinary families of loss, we share our stories of extraordinary loss. Please help us welcome this precious young mother of loss to share more about her beautiful son Westin.
